Increase awareness of IRB's responsibility to oversee research involving human subject participation especially with regard to minimizing physical and psychological risk through a stringent evaluation of the approval process and approved protocols.

Assist the IRB leaders in identifying problems and initiating appropriate action to resolve them.

Evaluate conditions and situations that may lead to risks. With a systematic process, become an advocate for research subjects. Develop skills for effectively restructuring the IRB for greater effectiveness.
